Counselling Services And Support

As part of our recovery programme, we offer access to the counselling support services listed below. We encourage everyone engaging in our programme to consider this additional support simply because we know life experiences can greatly impact decisions and paths we chose to follow. This is FREE for our service users throughout our programme and has proven to be highly successful.

Counselling

We are able to offer one to one counselling sessions for those experiencing and needing support for anxiety, depression and low mood as examples.

Trauma Resource Course

Moving On Inverclyde are working in partnership with Mind Mosaic to offer and deliver a Trauma Resource Course. The Trauma Resource Course is an awareness course which looks at the effects of trauma on the brain and the body and at what can help in the here and now. No one is ever asked to speak of their own experiences, and all sessions are friendly, low key and informal. It is delivered as a group session for two hours, once a week for six weeks.

Many of us experience trauma in our lifetimes. The effects can impact all aspects of our lives and may happen even years after the event occurred - we may not even remember it.

Learning about how trauma works helps us realise that its not a question of what’s wrong with us, its about what’s happened in our lives.

Trauma Counselling

In addition to the above, we are also working in partnership with Mind Mosaic and Thoughts4change to offer trauma counselling on a one to one basis. Often a person’s problematic substance misuse is as a result of trauma and adverse childhood experiences in their lives and being able to address this alongside the Moving On programme, will enable and empower the individuals recovery journey and success.
